The BIG one! The 2024 Head of the Schoolgirls Regatta was held last weekend on the magnificent Barwon River in Geelong. Months of hard work, sweat, and tears and it all comes down to a few short races over a few days in March! This is what it is all about!
The conditions for the regatta could not have been better, and the racing was fierce, with some great results and brilliant outcomes for all the athletes and their families. No doubt a lot of fun was had by all, and hopefully those not finishing year 12 this year will be back to do it all again next year (in a few short months’ actually).
As usual, Alan Crute, from Rowing Regatta Form Guides and Chat, along with our own “Rowing Tragic” Binky Kfouri will give us the run down on all the racing over the weekend!
Whilst this is the penultimate regatta for most there is still a few athletes heading off to Sydney for the Australian Rowing Championships at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith over the next week, good luck to you guys! To those whose season has wrapped up, enjoy the break, you’ve deserved it!
