Meet Guy, a sports enthusiast who discovered his passion for sport at the age of 13. It all began with a memorable “fun run” covering 9 kilometers, followed shortly by a somewhat challenging completion of the Melbourne Marathon. Despite his initial lack of natural sporting ability as a youngster, these experiences sparked a fire within him and fueled his motivation to excel.

During his early years, Guy ventured into rowing at school in Melbourne, Australia. This opened the door to a world of diverse sports and activities, including cross-country running, snow skiing, and even a less successful attempt at the coordination-intensive sport of AFL football.

However, it was the triathlon that ultimately captured Guy’s heart and became his primary focus. Through his involvement in this demanding sport, he developed a deep fascination with training methodologies and the psychology behind athletic performance. The similarities between triathlon and rowing provided him with a unique synergy, as his passion for both disciplines complemented each other perfectly.

As Guy transitioned from rowing to the role of Coxswain, he recognized that pursuing excellence in both rowing and triathlon simultaneously presented challenges. Undeterred, he fully embraced his new role as a Coxswain and embraced coaching with unwavering enthusiasm.
