Thank god! I can now feel not only progress in the time line shrinking (being single figures now…) but there is definite improvement on my physical and mental well being about it all. I’m feeling fit, strong and confident. Albeit, tired from all the sessions. Note: being super sprint I’m not doing long rides on the bike etc. all my sessions are short and sharp, focusing on intensity and speed. Whilst hard work, its much more fun. Basically 13 sessions a week, nothing more than 45 mins.
I hit some solid dieting three weeks ago and now the effect is starting to work, the weight is falling off and I’m feeling good about that too. Its a bit of a fine line though, dropping weight when needing to have strength for the shorter bursts.
This week is a tough one though, as I am on holiday; skiing at Mt Buller. So the battle of fitting in the sessions, the skiing and most importantly the beers 😉 its a tough balance. Not to mention a tad boring, most of the training is at the Mt Buller High Performance Fitness Centre, whilst I love to run outdoors through the trails the terrain can be a bit taxing on the legs and really affect the skiing, we cant have that, it its the treadmill and the spin bike for the week. And boy do I hate the spin bike, it literally makes time stand still.
Last weekend the Elites had their Super Sprint World Championship in Germany, so i got a little bot of motivation from that, it is hard staying motivated while training during the winter months, but so be it, the work has to be done.
Until next time, happy training!
